We met each other at a metal concert in Berlin 6 years ago. After Andy moved to Bangkok, we decided to start a business based on our mutual passion which is coffee. That’s why we started a specialty-grade coffee shop here in Ari (Aribica Cafe). The coffee culture here is so different from Berlin. Back there, people just drink, no cafe hopping, no photos.
We buy our coffee at a fair price directly from the farmers in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. We have our own roastery and we do coffee cupping ourselves. For me, a good specialty coffee shop is about the level of quality control one has over the supply chains and how much staff can provide information with our customers, so we take our staff to the coffee farms every year.
